
Polk County Middle rolled Wednesday to a straight-set victory over Flat Rock in a Blue Ridge Conference road match.
The Wolverines improved to 6-2 with a 25-14, 25-16 victory.
Polk opened a 6-2 lead in the first set and never trailed again. Leading 18-12, Brooklynn Lewis served five straight points for a 23-12 lead, and the Wolverines closed the set shortly thereafter.
Polk Middle never trailed in the second set, grabbing a 10-2 lead. Flat Rock did rally to within 15-10, but the Wolverines steadily pulled away to end the match.
“We’re definitely headed in the right direction for next week’s final games,” said Polk Middle head coach Kenny Hall.
Polk Middle returns Monday for its final home match of the season, hosting Brevard Middle, before wrapping the regular season on Wednesday at Rugby Middle.
