Polk County continued its solid start to the 2019 volleyball season on Wednesday, defeating East Henderson 3-1 in a non-conference match in East Flat Rock.

The Wolverines earned a 25-17, 25-16, 20-25, 25-14 victory to improve to 5-1 on the season. East Henderson dropped to 2-5.

Grace Lauer had 13 kills and eight digs for Polk County, with Marilyn Castillo adding 10 kills and Mireya Roman notching six kills. Sydney Waldman had 37 assists and 14 digs, with Carolina Castillo posting 23 digs.

Kristen Hall finished with 13 digs and 4 aces while Karla Olguin had eight digs for Polk County, which hosts Shelby on Thursday.
