Wolverines finish road slate with victory at Tuscola

Polk County opened the final week of regular-season play on Monday with a road win at Tuscola, defeating the Mountaineers 3-1 in a non-conference volleyball match.

The Wolverines claimed a 25-22, 26-24, 22-25, 25-10 win, improving to 9-11 in their final regular-season road match. Tuscola dropped to 6-11.

Sophia Overholt had a dominant game with 21 kills and 27 digs. Morgan Yoder added 15 kills, 10 digs and six blocks while Ada Kelley had seven kills and six blocks.

Mia Bradley recorded 22 assists and eight digs while Amberlyn Scruggs had 14 assists and seven digs.

Ella Waldman finished with 18 digs and four assists for Polk County, which returns home Tuesday to face East Rutherford. Junior varsity play begins at 5 p.m. with the varsity to follow. Both matches will be shown live on NFHS Network and Polk County will also celebrate Senior Night.
