Wolverines find success on the road, stopping Warhorses

Polk County rolled to a straight-set win over Owen Thusday in a Western Highlands Conference volleyball match in Swannanoa.

The Wolverines earned a 25-12, 25-19, 25-12 victory in their first road conference match of the season. Polk County improved to 9-2, 2-0 with the win.

Grace Lauer had nine kills to lead a balanced Polk County attack. Mireya Roman added six kills an 11 digs, with Marissa Twitty notching five and Marilyn Castillo adding four plus seven digs.

Carolina Castillo had 23 digs and Kristen Hall had 20 digs, with Sydney Waldman recording 34 assists.

Owen dropped to 2-9, 1-1 with the loss.

Polk County begins a three-match homestand on Tuesday, hosting Avery in another WHC tussle.
