West Henderson claimed a sweep Wednesday of Polk County, handing the Wolverines a 25-20, 25-16, 25-22 setback in a non-conference matchup at Polk.
The Falcons, who entered with a 20-5 record, largely controlled the match from the opening serve against Polk County, which dropped to 11-10 overall in falling for the fifth time in its last six matches.
Despite the result, Polk County received strong individual efforts from several players who kept battling throughout the sweep.

Akeela Cunningham led all Wolverines with a double-double performance of 11 kills and 26 digs while also recording a block. Sophomore Reeve Carroll added her own double-double with 10 kills and 23 digs along with an ace.
Senior setter Charley Dusenbury led the Polk County offense with 13 assists while contributing five kills, two aces and seven digs.
The Wolverines also received solid defensive performances from Aslyn Scruggs (eight digs) and Junie Mitchell (eight digs). Sophomore Abby Lewis posted nine assists and nine digs while adding a block.
The loss comes at a critical juncture for Polk County, which faces a quick turnaround with a Western Highlands Conference match at Madison on Thursday.
