Polk County pulled out a key third-set win Wednesday and went on to post a 3-1 victory over Landrum in a volleyball matchup of border rivals in Landrum.
The Wolverines (13-3) earned a 25-17, 21-25, 25-22, 25-10 win. Landrum dropped to 12-7-1 with the loss.
Reagan Waddell had 15 kills, 16 digs and two aces for Polk County, with Ansley Lynch adding nine kills, nine digs and three blocks. Mireya Roman had eight kills and Grace Lauer had seven kills and four blocks. Marissa Twitty added five blocks, with Kendall Hall posting 24 digs and 11 assists, Lauren Ketwitz notching 16 digs and 15 assists and Carolina Castillo recording six digs. Sydney Waldman finished with 16 assists and a solo block.
The Polk County junior varsity notched a 19-25, 25-20, 15-9 win. Rollins Carter had 12 digs and seven aces, with Kylee Mullis recording four kills, Rachael Davis posting five digs, Landry Edwards adding nine assists and seven digs and Emmie McDowell finishing with five kills and four assists.
Both Polk County teams are in action Thursday, hosting Madison in Western Highlands Conference play.
