Polk Middle’s Anna Jackson sends a serve toward the opposition during a recent match.

Polk County Middle dropped its first match of the season on Tuesday, a tough three-set loss at Apple Valley in Blue Ridge Conference volleyball play.

The Wolverines (1-1) captured the first set 25-14, but lost the final two sets 25-14, 15-11.

“We knew they were going to be tough and ultimately they were,” said Polk Middle head coach Kenny Hall. “We will keep working and adjusting whatever we have to in order to be a better team each time we play.”
