Polk County moved a step closer Tuesday to an undefeated conference season with a 3-0 sweep of Mitchell in Ledger.

The Wolverines took a 25-17, 25-14, 15-13 win in the Western Highlands Conference match to improve to 18-4 overall, 9-0 in WHC play. Polk County has won 18 consecutive WHC matches and 28 of its last 29.

Mireya Roman had nine kills for Polk County, with Marilyn Castillo adding seven and Grace Lauer and Kristen Hall each finishing with six. Hall also had four aces and four digs. Belen Akers added four kills.

Carolina Castillo had 16 digs, with Rachael Davis recording five.

Sydney Waldman had 30 assists for the Wolverines, who return home Thursday to face Mountain Heritage in their final conference match of the season.
