Louisa Wood (21) had eight kills to lead Polk County in Thursday's victory

Polk County’s junior varsity extended its winning streak Thursday and made a bit of school history in the process.

The Wolverines held off West Henderson to record a 25-21, 18-15, 15-7 victory, marking what it believed to be the first time a Polk junior varsity team has defeated the Falcons.

The win is the fourth straight for Polk County, now 5-6. The West JVs dropped to 5-2.

Louisa Wood had eight kills to lead Polk County, with Mahaley Wilson adding five. Beiji Olivari and Riyah Schroyer each added three kills.

Aslyn Scruggs had 18 assists for Polk.

The Wolverines move into the second half of their schedule on Tuesday, hosting Chase at 4:30 p.m. in the final match of their current five-game homestand.
