Polk County held off a determined Rosman squad on Monday to record a 2-1 victory in a non-conference junior varsity volleyball match at Polk.

The Wolverines (9-5) took the first set 25-15, only to see Rosman fight back and win the second 19-25.

The third set stayed close throughout until the Wolverines pushed ahead late for a 15-11 victory.

Belen Akers had four kids and nine digs for Polk County, with Emmie McDowell adding 12 assists, seven digs, four aces and three kills. Rachael Davis had 10 digs and two kills and Rollins Carter had eight digs.

Winners of four straight, Polk County travels Tuesday to Madison for a Western Highlands Conference match.
