Polk County’s junior varsity volleyball team continued its strong conference play Tuesday, sweeping Madison in straight sets 25-16, 25-17 in a Western Highlands Conference matchup at Polk County.
The win improves the Wolverines’ record to 5-4 on the season, while Madison falls to 2-7.
Sophomore Claire Lawrence led Polk County’s offensive attack with eight kills, while Emily Nance added six kills and three service aces. The Wolverines’ defense was anchored by Olivia Kirk, who recorded 15 digs and added two aces of her own.

Setter Camdyn Israel-Garrett led the offense with 15 assists while contributing three kills and two digs. The Wolverines’ serving was particularly sharp, with six different players recording aces, including three from Nance, who exceeded her season average of 1.6 aces per match.
Other notable contributions came from Madalyn Varnadore, who registered a kill, an ace, a block and three digs, while Lorali Wing added two kills and a block to the winning effort.
The Wolverines will look to build on this performance when they travel to face A.C. Reynolds on Wednesday in a non-conference match.
