Polk County’s junior varsity suffered a tough setback Wednesday, dropping a 25-22, 25-27, 15-9 decision to A.C. Reynolds in a non-conference matchup in Fairview.

The loss drops Polk County’s record to 5-5 on the season, continuing the pattern of alternating wins and losses over their past five matches.

Despite the setback, several Wolverines turned in stellar individual performances. Sophomore Claire Lawrence maintained her strong season with eight kills and 16 digs while Camdyn Israel-Garrett finished with 17 assists while adding 15 digs and two blocks.

Ava Evans anchored the back row with 17 digs to go along with three kills while Marin Kistler collected four digs. At the net, Lorali Wing and Emily Nance provided strong frontline presence. Wing tallied five kills and two blocks while Nance contributed across all phases with two kills, three aces, five blocks and 10 digs.

Sophomore Olivia Kirk added offensive spark with four aces and seven digs.

The Wolverines will look to bounce back when they return to Western Highlands Conference play, traveling to face Avery on Tuesday.
