West Henderson’s junior varsity volleyball team swept past Polk County Thursday in straight sets, 25-20, 25-18, in non-conference action.
The loss drops Polk County’s JV squad to 2-1 on the season, snapping their two-game winning streak to start the year.
Despite the setback, several Wolverines delivered solid performances. Sophomore Claire Lawrence continued her strong early-season play with a team-high seven kills and four digs, while setter Camdyn Israel-Garrett orchestrated the offense with 11 assists while adding seven digs and an ace.

The Wolverine defense showed promise, with sophomore Olivia Kirk recording seven digs and junior Ava Evans contributing five. Emily Nance and Lorali Wing each added kills for Polk County, with Jaylynn Hempen also recording a kill in the match.
The Wolverines will look to bounce back when they return to action on Tuesday, hosting R-S Central in another non-conference matchup.
