West Henderson knocks off Polk in four sets

West Henderson bounced back from a loss last week to A.C. Reynolds to upend Polk County 3-1 in a volleyball matchup in Mills River.

The Falcons improved to 10-5 with the 25-22, 21-25, 25-18, 25-15 victory. Polk County dropped to 7-2. The Wolverines were playing their first match since ascending to the top spot in MaxPreps 1A state rankings.

Grace Lauer had 14 kills for Polk, with Mireya Roman adding eight kills and four blocks. Sydney Waldman had 26 assists and eight digs, surpassing 500 digs for her career.

Kristen Hall finished with seven digs and four kills for Polk, which opens Western Highlands Conference play on Tuesday at home against Madison.
