Unbeaten West Henderson holds off Polk in straight sets

Polk County pushed unbeaten West Henderson through two tight sets Wednesday before the Falcons completed a 25-19, 25-23, 25-23 non-conference sweep in Mills River.

West Henderson, now 10-0, took the opening set by six points, but the Wolverines stayed within striking distance throughout the remainder of the match. The Falcons had to hold off Polk by identical two-point margins in the second and third sets to preserve the sweep.

Beija Olivari led Polk County with eight kills and added eight digs. Kenzie Alm had five kills, 10 assists and 12 digs, while Abby Lewis finished with four kills, eight assists and 13 digs.

Reeve Carroll added 10 digs, and Jessie Bradley served four aces.

The loss dropped the Wolverines to 4-4. Polk County travels to Mountain Heritage on Thursday.
