Trailblazers hand Wolverines first loss of season

Asheville Trailblazers handed Polk County its first loss of the season on Tuesday, defeating the Wolverines in four sets in a non-conference volleyball match at Polk.

The Trailblazers earned a 25-19, 25-20, 18-25, 25-23 win, dropping the Wolverines to 2-1 on the season.

Polk County senior setter Savannah Ross suffered a head injury in the fourth set and missed the remainder of the match. Her status for Wednesday’s match against Brevard is uncertain.

Ashley Love had 20 kills and 19 digs for the Wolverines, who also got 12 kills and nine digs from Reagan Waddell, eight kills and two aces from Addie Lynch, 18 digs and two aces from Lauren Ketwitz, 39 digs from Kendall Hall and 38 assists from Ross before her injury.
