Rugby snaps Polk Middle volleyball win streak

1 min read

Polk County Middle School’s 17-match volleyball winning streak ended Monday, with Rugby Middle handing Polk a 25-12, 25-15 loss.

The Wolverines (2-1), undefeated last season, fell to Rugby in a rematch of last season’s Blue Ridge Middle School Conference tournament final. Polk Middle won that one in addition to both of its regular-season meetings with the Raiders.

“Rugby played a great match and were well prepared,” said Polk Middle head coach Matthew Russell. “Our main focus at this point in the season is attempting to get better every day. We will shake off this loss and focus our attention and energy into preparing for Apple Valley this Thursday.”
