The Wolverines grabbed a 5-3 lead in the second set behind the serving of Mia Bradley and still led 8-4 before the Raiders had another five-point run to erase the deficit. The score was deadlocked at 19-19 before Rugby grabbed a 21-20 lead, then scored the final four points of the match to claim the win.

“The girls played tough against another really good team,” said Polk Middle head coach Kenny Hall. “Ultimately their front row size just got the better of us.”

Rugby and Brevard finished tied for the Blue Ridge Conference’s East Division title and will represent the division in the BRC tourney.
