R-S Central edges Polk JV in opening set, completes sweep

Polk County’s junior varsity volleyball team dropped a pair of competitive sets Thursday in a 25-23, 25-20 loss to R-S Central at Polk County.

Alia Vorbe led the Wolverines at the net with eight kills and added 12 digs, four assists and two aces. Breelyn Morrison finished with seven kills and 10 digs.

Lily Holt paced Polk’s defense with 19 digs while adding two assists. Camdyn Israel-Garrett had a team-high 14 assists along with six digs.

ScottLynn Whiteside added three kills and nine digs while Emily Dotson served two aces.

The loss evened the Wolverines’ record at 2-2. Polk County will travel to Asheville Christian Academy on Tuesday.
