Polk County fans can send the Wolverine volleyball team off in style Friday as the team leaves Columbus bound for Raleigh and Saturday’s 1A state championship match.

The team will leave Polk County’s campus on Friday at 10 a.m., proceeding through downtown Columbus. The team bus will loop through the traffic circles at the Interstate 26 interchange and then drive back through Columbus before getting on U.S. Highway 74.

Fans are urged to line the streets and cheer on the team as they begin a journey that will end with Saturday’s title match against Falls Lake Academy. That match will be played at 5 p.m. Saturday in Reynolds Coliseum on the campus of North Carolina State University.
