Polk County opened its 2020 season Thursday on a winning note, sweeping East Rutherford in a non-conference volleyball match in Bostic.
The Wolverines claimed a 25-7, 25-11, 25-13 victory in their opener, delayed until this month by the COVID-19 pandemic. East Rutherford dropped to 0-2.
Marilyn Castillo had 12 kills for Polk County, with Kristen Hall adding seven kills and 12 digs. Marissa Twotty had four kills for the Wolverines.
Emmie McDowell had 19 assists and six digs, with Rollis Carter adding eight digs and a pair of aces.
Polk County returns to the road on Monday, traveling to East Henderson for another non-conference match.
