Polk stays perfect in WHC play, sweeps Madison

Polk County opened the second half of its Western Highlands Conference schedule in style, sweeping Madison on Tuesday night in Marshall.

The Wolverines (11-3, 7-0) rolled to a 25-9, 25-12, 25-14 victory, dropping Madison to 3-10 overall, 2-5 in conference play.

Reagan Waddell had nine kills, 11 digs and three aces for Polk, which also got seven kills from Ashley Love, nine kills and six digs from Addie Lynch, six kills and 16 digs from Kendall Hall, 16 digs and five aces from Lauren Ketwitz and 23 assists and nine digs from Savannah Ross.

Polk County hosts undefeated West Henderson on Wednesday in a non-conference match before a crucial WHC meeting with Mountain Heritage, also at Polk, on Thursday. The Cougars were swept on Tuesday night by Hendersonville, giving Polk County a two-game lead in the WHC standings, and are currently tied with the Bearcats for second place.
