
Polk County kicked off defense of its Mountain Foothills 7 Conference title on Tuesday with a 3-0 sweep of Patton in Morganton.
The Wolverines rolled to a 25-17, 25-12, 25-14 win, improving to 6-0 overall, 1-0 in conference play. Patton is now 1-6, 0-1.
Morgan Yoder paced Polk’s offense with 13 kills, with Ada Kelley recording nine kills and also posting 11 digs. Mia Bradley had six kills and six digs, Kylie Lewis had six kills and Sophia Overholt recorded five kills and five digs.
Zaelea Eller had 23 assists, with Charley Dusenbury recording 14 assists.
Elena Carroll had 10 digs for Polk County, which returns to the road Wednesday for a 5:30 p.m. match at T.C. Roberson. That game is slated to be shown live on NFHS Network.
