Polk County Middle’s volleyball team continued its early-season dominance, sweeping Madison Middle in straight sets Wednesday to remain undefeated in Blue Ridge Conference play.
The Wolverines (3-0) earned their third consecutive victory with a 25-22, 25-11 triumph over the Patriots (1-1) in a match that showcased both Polk’s resilience and offensive firepower.
The opening set proved to be a back-and-forth battle, with neither team able to establish a significant advantage early. Holding a narrow 20-19 lead, Polk Middle seized control with four consecutive points to reach set point at 24-19. Though Madison Middle mounted a brief comeback with three straight points, Emily Dotson delivered the decisive point to secure the first set for the Wolverines.

Polk County found its rhythm in the second set after a 4-4 tie. The Wolverines reeled off five straight points to take a 9-4 advantage. Following a Madison side-out, Kenzie Alm took control at the service line, powering a six-point run that extended Polk’s lead to 16-6. The Wolverines maintained their momentum throughout the remainder of the set to complete the sweep.
The victory sets up an intriguing matchup next Tuesday as Polk Middle hosts Rugby Middle at 4:30 p.m., looking to extend its perfect start to the season.
Polk Middle’s junior varsity also earned a win Wednesday, taking a 25-17 victory over the Patriots.
