Polk County Middle's Renee Bright

Polk County Middle kicked off the second half of its Blue Ridge Conference schedule Thursday with a sweep of Apple Valley Middle in Hendersonville.

The Wolverines rolled to a 25-13, 25-7 victory, upping their record to 9-1 overall and 6-0 in BRC matches. Apple Valley dropped to 1-7.

The Wolverines had several long runs in both sets. Perhaps most notably in the second set, Polk allowed Apple Valley to score consecutive points just once, limiting the Knights to seven total serves in the set.

“I’m proud of the girls for giving a good strong effort today,” said Polk Middle head coach Kenny Hall.

The Wolverines return home Monday to host Hendersonville Middle for a 4:30 p.m. match.
