Polk County Middle School’s volleyball team continued its winning ways Monday, sweeping Canton Middle in straight sets in Blue Ridge Conference action.
The Wolverines (2-0) took control early in both sets thanks to strong serving performances from their lineup en route to the 25-18, 25-12 win.
In the opening set, Polk County built a 5-3 advantage before finding themselves in a competitive battle midway through the frame. Leading 15-12, the Wolverines created separation behind Breelyn Morrison’s serving prowess. Morrison helped engineer six consecutive points, giving Polk the cushion needed to close out the first set.

The second set saw the Wolverines waste no time establishing dominance as a decisive 7-0 run put Polk ahead 9-1. From there, the Wolverines steadily extended their lead en route to completing the sweep.
The victory keeps Polk County’s momentum rolling as they return to familiar territory for their next match. The Wolverines will host Madison Middle on Wednesday, with first serve scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
