Polk County Middle continued its early-season success on Monday, sweeping Flat Rock in a Blue Ridge Conference volleyball matchup at Polk Middle.
The Wolverines improved to 3-0 with a 25-20, 25-12 victory. Polk Middle travels Tuesday to Brevard Middle.
The opening set remained tight throughout, with Flat Rock (1-2) within 3-5 points much of the match. The Eagles had the deficit at three, with the serve, at 23-20, but the Wolverines closed the set with the final two points, the last a Kylie Lewis kill to end the set.
Polk Middle then raced to an 8-3 lead in the second set and never let the margin drop below five the rest of the way. A Mia Bradley serving run late in the set pushed the advantage into double digits, and the Wolverines closed out the match shortly thereafter.
