Polk Middle cruises past Flat Rock, keeps pace in division title chase

Polk Middle moved a step closer to a division title on Monday, rolling past Flat Rock Middle in a Blue Ridge Conference volleyball clash in Flat Rock.

The Wolverines (11-1) downed the winless Eagles 25-7, 25-9, keeping Polk Middle tied for the BRC East Division lead with Rugby Middle. The Wolverines close the regular season on Wednesday at Hendersonville Middle.

Polk Middle raced to a 6-0 lead in the first set Monday, then reeled off 10 straight points to build a 17-3 advantage en route to the set win. The second set saw the Wolverines open with eight straight points en route to a 15-2 advantage, with Polk closing out the match shortly thereafter.

Polk Middle also earned a win in the fifth quarter match, taking a 25-19 victory.
