Polk County Middle made its trip to Apple Valley Middle a quick one, rolling past the Knights 2-0 in Blue Ridge Conference volleyball play on Tuesday.
The Wolverines scored a 25-8, 25-12 win, improving to 3-0 for the season while Apple Valley dropped to 0-3.
Polk Middle dominated the first set, opening a 7-1 lead, and then reeling off seven straight points later in the match for a 20-5 margin before taking the set.
The second set opened much closer before the Wolverines had a run of eight straight points midway through the set, opening a 19-8 margin and then going on to close the set and match.
“Our serving was really good today, which helped lead us to victory,” said PCMS head coach Kenny Hall.
Polk Middle returns home Wednesday to face Hendersonville Middle in a matchup of BRC East Division leaders. That match begins at 4:30 p.m.
