Polk County Middle returned to the win column on Wednesday, going on the road to hand Apple Valley a 2-0 defeat in Blue Ridge Conference volleyball play.

The Wolverines bounced back from losses to Brevard Middle and Rugby Middle with a 25-22, 25-20 win in Hendersonville.

A tight first set tilted in Polk Middle’s favor midway through, with the Wolverines pushing out to a 16-10 lead. Apple Valley fought back to within 16-15, and the match was tied at 22-22 when Mia Bradley served a pair of points to make it 24-22.

After a side out, the Wolverines were able to claim set point after a long rally.

Bradley’s serving helped Polk take a 6-2 lead in the second set. The Wolverines extended the margin to 15-7, then held off a late Knight rally to claim the match.

Polk Middle returns to the court on Monday, hosting Hendersonville Middle in a 4:30 p.m. start. The game will be streamed live and a link to that broadcast can be found here.
