Polk County’s junior varsity earned its first win of the season on Thursday, handing East Henderson a 2-0 setback in action at Polk.

The Wolverines (1-2) made their home opener a successful one with a 25-8, 25-14 victory.

Amberlyn Scruggs had eight digs and seven assists for Polk, with Elysia Smith adding five kills and eight assists. Stella Tallon had three kills, with Ella Waldman posting 12 digs and Lisa Jones adding five digs.

Cameron Ward had three aces for Polk County, which returns to action on Monday at Shelby.
