Polk County’s junior varsity suffered its first conference loss of the season, dropping a 2-0 decision Tuesday at Mountain Heritage.

The Wolverines fell 25-23, 25-18, falling to 10-5 overall, 4-1 in WHC matches. Mountain Heritage improved to 7-5, 5-0.

Elysia Smith had six kills, six assists and seven digs for Polk County, with Amberlyn Scruggs adding six assists and 11 digs. Ella Waldman had 15 digs.

Sara Wilson and Stella Tallon each had two kills, with Tallon adding four digs.

Polk County is back at home Wednesday, facing Hendersonville in a non-conference match.
