
Polk County’s junior varsity engineered a dramatic win Tuesday at Hendersonville, edging the Bearcats in a three-set thriller.
The Wolverines notched a 26-24, 20-25, 15-12 victory, improving to 10-7 overall, 7-1 in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference matches. Hendersonville dropped to 5-6, 4-4.
Mahaley Wilson had eight kills to pace Polk County, with Beija Olivari recording six kills. Riyah Schroyer added three kills.
Aslyn Scruggs recorded 21 assists, with Ava Evans serving four aces.
Unofficially, Scruggs finished with 28 digs, with Evans recording 11 digs and Akeela Cunningham and Junie Mitchell each posting 10 digs.
Polk County continues conference play on Thursday, traveling to R-S Central.
