Polk County’s junior varsity enjoyed a winning season opener Tuesday, defeating East Henderson 2-0 in a non-conference meeting in Flat Rock.
The Wolverines grabbed a 25-10, 25-11 victory in the season debut for both teams.
Lexi Beiler had six kills for Polk, with Akeela Cunningham adding three kills. Mikala Fisher had two kills.

Hayden Blackwell recorded seven of Polk County’s 19 serving aces and also had four assists. Junie Mitchell finished with six aces and four assists.
The Wolverines are back on the court Wednesday, traveling to Smoky Mountain for a non-conference match at 5 p.m.
