Polk JVs rebound with 2-1 win at Avery

Polk County bounced back from a pair of losses this week with a 2-1 victory Thursday over Avery in junior varsity voleyball action in Newland.

The Wolverines posted a 19-25, 25-20, 15-9 win in the Western Highlands Conference match. That lifted Polk to a 12-8 overall record and 6-2 in conference matches.

Elysia Smith had 11 assists, 10 digs, nine kills and four aces for Polk County, with Amberlyn Scruggs adding 13 assists and 10 digs. Sara Wilson had six kills and five digs.

Ella Waldman finished with 16 digs, while Cameron Ward had four digs and two kills.

Polk County returns home Monday for a non-conference match against West Henderson.
