Polk JVs open season with sweep of East Rutherford

Polk County opened its junior varsity volleyball season Monday with a straight-set win over East Rutherford, topping the Cavaliers 25-19, 25-15 at Polk.

Alia Vorbe led the Wolverine attack with five kills while adding eight digs and three aces. ScottLynn Whiteside finished with three kills, with Breelyn Morrison and Emily Dotson each adding two.

Polk County also did plenty of damage from the service line, totaling 12 aces. Morrison led the way with four aces, with Dotson and Lily Holt each serving two.

Holt paced the defense with 20 digs. Camdyn Israel-Garrett had eight assists and six digs for the Wolverines, who improved to 1-0.

Polk County travels to R-S Central on Thursday.
