Polk JVs net straight-set win at A.C. Reynolds

Polk County’s junior varsity scored a straight-set win Monday at A.C. Reynolds, sweeping the Rockets 2-0.

The Wolverines (4-2) notched a 25-13, 25-17 victory, dropping the Rocket JVs to 1-3.

Hayden Blackwell had five kills, six assists, three aces and eight digs, with Akeela Cunningham also recording five kills. Charley Dusenbury had four kills while Lexi Beiler had three kills and four aces.

Thais Vorbe also recorded three kills while Junie Mitchell had seven assists and Aslyn Scruggs added five digs.

Polk County opens Mountain Foothills 7 Conference play on Tuesday, hosting Patton at 5 p.m. The match will be streamed live on NFHS Network.
