One noticable thing happened Tuesday for Polk County’s junior varsity volleyball team – the Wolverines played a match without a third set.
Polk’s home sweep of Patton marked the first time this season that the Wolverines didn’t play a third set, the 25-10, 25-14 victory a welcome change for the weary squad.
Polk County (3-2, 1-0) dominated its conference opener, rolling to big leads in each set defeating the Panthers (5-3).

Reeve Carroll had seven kills and six digs for Polk, with Claire Lawrence recording five kills and five digs. Abby Lewis had 16 assists and eight digs for the Wolverines, who also recorded 12 aces in the match.
Polk County travels Thursday to Hendersonville for another Mountain Foothills 7 Conference clash.
