Jessie Bradley had two of Polk County's 17 aces in Tuesday's win

Polk County’s junior varsity earned its first win of the season Tuesday, downing Patton 2-1 in a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference match in Morganton.

The Wolverines took a 23-25, 25-18, 15-7 victory, upping their record to 1-5 overall, 1-0 in league play. Patton dropped to 0-6, 0-1.

Mahaley Wilson had seven kills, six digs and two aces for the Wolverines, with Jessie Bradley adding three kills and two aces while Riyah Schroyer had three kills and four digs. Beija Olivari had two kills and 13 digs.

Akeela Cunningham had seven assists and five sigs, with Aslyn Scruggs posting seven assists, eight digs and five aces. Junie Mitchell had 16 digs and four aces, with Ava Evans recording six digs and a kill.

Chayse Hagins also had two aces for Polk County, which finished with 17 for the match.

The Wolverines will return to action on Wednesday, traveling to T.C. Roberson for a 4:30 p.m. match. The game is slated to be shown live on NFHS Network.
