Polk JVs fall in regular-season finale

The Polk County JV volleyball team closed out its regular season Tuesday with a 2-0 loss to visiting Hendersonville, falling 25-22, 25-20 in a Mountain Foothills 7 Conference match.

The Wolverines finished the season 10-11 overall after dropping their final match of the campaign.

Despite the defeat, several Wolverines delivered standout performances in their season finale. Sophomore Claire Lawrence paced the offense with five kills while anchoring the defense with 13 digs. Junior Ava Evans had two kills while adding an ace and 11 digs. Sophomore Emily Nance also played well in the finale, contributing three kills, an ace and 12 digs.

The defensive effort was bolstered by sophomore Olivia Kirk’s nine digs, while Camdyn Israel-Garrett orchestrated the offense with 11 assists to go along with seven digs, a kill and an ace.

Sophomore Madalyn Varnadore added three digs and freshman Jackie Sankey chipped in a kill for the Wolverines.
