Polk County earned a hard-fought conference win on Tuesday, pushing past Mitchell 2-1 in junior varsity volleyball action in Ledger.

The Wolverines claimed a 25-22, 21-25, 16-14 win in the Western Highlands Conference matchup to improve to 13-9 overall, 7-2 in WHC matches. Polk County hosts Mountain Heritage on Thursday in its final conference game of the season.

Elysia Smith had six kills, 13 assists, three aces and three digs for Polk while Cameron Ward finished with six kills and six digs. Stella Tallon recorded five kills and six digs and Sara Wilson added five kills.

Ella Waldman had 18 digs, with Amberlyn Scruggs notching 11 assists and five digs.
