Polk JVs check Patton in conference opener

Polk County’s junior varsity kicked off its Mountain Foothills 7 Conference schedule on Tuesday with a sweep of Patton before a supportive home crowd.

The Wolverines (5-2, 1-0) claimed a 25-13, 25-20 victory, dropping the Panthers to 1-3, 0-1.

Lexi Beiler had five kills and four digs for Polk, with Akeela Cunningham adding two kills and Hayden Blackwell providing two kills, five aces, two digs and two assists.

Junie Mitchell and Charley Dusenbury each had two digs, with Dusenbury adding six assists.

Aslyn Scruggs had three aces and three digs for Polk County, which travels Thursday to Hendersonville for another league clash.
