Polk County's Junie Mitchell served nine aces in Thursday's win

A tough first set gave way Thursday to a second-set stroll as Polk County earned a 2-0 sweep over Patton in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference junior varsity volleyball play.

The Wolverines claimed a 27-25, 25-8 win, upping their record to 9-7 overall, 6-1 in conference matches.

Serving helped spark the win as Polk County delivered 18 aces. Junie Mitchell recorded nine of those to go with her 16 digs, with Ava Evans serving four aces and Aslyn Scruggs recording two plus eight assists.

Mahaley Wilson had four kills, with Riyah Schroyer adding three kills and four digs.

Polk County will hit the road on Tuesday, traveling to Hendersonville for an MF7 matchup.
