Polk County’s junior varsity volleyball team maintained its early-season momentum Tuesday, sweeping R-S Central in straight sets in non-conference action at Polk County.
The Wolverines (3-1) dominated both sets, winning 25-11, 25-23 to secure their third victory of the season.
Sophomore Claire Lawrence led the Wolverine attack with a stellar all-around performance, recording 11 kills and 16 digs. Freshman setter Camdyn Israel-Garrett orchestrated the offense with precision, delivering 16 assists while adding 23 digs – well above her season average of 12.8. Her defensive effort helped anchor a strong back-row performance by the Wolverines.

Sophomore Emily Nance continued her consistent play, contributing six kills and six digs, staying close to her season averages of 5.3 kills and 6.8 digs per match. Olivia Kirk added eight digs to the defensive effort, while Ava Evans served up an ace and recorded eight digs of her own.
Middle blockers Lorali Wing and Madalyn Varnadore each recorded a block in the winning effort, with Varnadore also adding a kill and four digs to her stat line.
The victory keeps Polk County’s strong start to the season rolling as they prepare for their next challenge. The Wolverines will return to action on August 27, hosting Asheville Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m.
