Polk continues roll, moves over .500 after topping Madison

Polk County’s girls volleyball team moved over the .500 mark for the first time this season with its fifth straight win, a 3-0 victory Tuesday over Madison in Marshall.

The Wolverines improved to 8-7 overall, 4-1 in Western Highlands Conference play with the 25-8, 25-21, 25-14 triumph. Madison dropped to 1-13, 1-4.

Marilyn Castillo had 11 kills, three digs and three blocks for Polk, with Kristen Hall adding 10 kills, three aces and three digs and Grace Lauer finishing with 10 kills.

Meadow Becker had seven blocks while Sydney Waldman had 33 assists and 11 digs and Ansley Lynch finished with 33 digs.

Polk County travels to Owen on Thursday for a key WHC match against the conference leaders.
