A “gritty win.”
And with the Blue Ridge Conference East Division race entering its final stretch, it was an important one.

The Wolverines swept Brevard 25-13, 25-21, keeping Polk one game ahead of Rugby Middle in the East Division with two conference matches remaining.
Polk took control quickly in the opening set, rolling to the 25-13 victory. Brevard offered a much stronger challenge in the second, but the Wolverines found enough points down the stretch to finish the 25-21 win and complete the sweep.
The victory improved Polk Middle to 10-1 overall and kept the Wolverines in control of their path to the East Division title.
Polk’s JV squad also earned a hard-fought victory, edging Brevard 27-25. The Wolverines scored the first six points of the set, with Millie Edwards serving the final five points of that opening run, before Brevard battled back and forced the set beyond 25.
Polk Middle travels to Landrum Middle on Tuesday before returning to Blue Ridge Conference play Wednesday at home against Flat Rock Middle.
