Brevard snapped Polk County’s six-game winning streak on Wednesday, handing the Wolverines junior varsity a 2-0 defeat in volleyball play at Polk.

The Blue Devils outlasted the Wolverines in a 25-23, 25-20 thriller. Polk County is now 8-4 on the season.

Cameron Ward and Elysia Smith each had three kills for Polk, with Smith adding four assists and seven digs. Kayla Stechschulte and Sara Wilson each had two kills and Amberlyn Scruggs finished with seven assists.

Ella Waldman had 12 digs, with Annslee Kilgore adding four.

Polk County returns to the court on Thursday, hosting Mitchell in a Western Highlands Conference match.
