Beija Olivari had five kills for Polk County in Thursday's setback

Brevard held off Polk County’s determined comeback Thursday to top the Wolverines 2-1 in the regular-season finale for both teams at Polk.

The Blue Devils took a 25-17, 23-25, 15-11 win, ending Polk County’s seven-match winning streak. The Wolverines close the season with a 14-8 record, 8-2 in Mountain Foothills 7 Conference matches.

Beija Olivari had five kills and 23 digs for Polk County, with Mahaley Wilson recording three kills and 15 digs and Chayse Hagins and Louisa Wood each adding three kills.

Aslyn Scruggs had 19 digs and 11 assists, with Akeela Cunningham notching 17 digs. Junie Mitchell had 16 digs.
