Asheville Christian JVs edge Polk County

Polk County’s junior varsity pushed Asheville Christian Academy to the limit Wednesday, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Lions in Swannanoa.

ACA claimed a 20-25, 25-22, 16-14 victory, leaving the Wolverines with an 0-4 record entering Thursday’s home match with A.C. Reynolds.

Riyah Schroyer had four kills and seven digs for Polk County, with Beija Olivari notching three kills and posting 12 digs.

Junie Mitchell had 18 digs for Polk, with Aslyn Scruggs recording 10 digs, four assists and three aces. Akeela Cunningham had five assists and five digs.

Zulen Ramirez finished with nine digs and Ava Evans recorded five.
