Asheville Christian Academy showed Monday night why it’s one of the area’s top volleyball squads, sweeping Polk County 25-12, 25-18, 25-22 in a non-conference volleyball match in Swannanoa.

The Lions (20-1) controlled all three sets against the Wolverines (12-11) as they begin to gear up to try to return to the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association state championship match. ACA lost to Davidson Day in the state final last season.

Reeve Carroll had a team-high 12 kills for Polk County and also registered eight digs, one ace and one block. Akeela Cunningham added 11 kills and posted six digs while serving two aces while Charley Dusenbury contributed five kills and 10 assists while adding three digs.
